The prior location on the trigger plate , aka lower tang, did not satisfy that requirement. '68 forward is on the upper tang, later moved to the side of the receiver. Jack.I hate a Marlin model 336 with a gold trigger and a serial number stamper "71 135158". There is a space between the 71 and the rest of the serial numbers. What year and does the remaining numbers mean anything? I am assuming the 71 is 1971 but I thought the 135158 might also indicate a production year of 1987... Thanks for any help you can provide.
